Name: Molly Borland

School: The Thomas Hardye School

Town: Dorchester

County: Dorset

Year: Year 13

Inspiration: My name is Molly, I am 18 years old and spend a lot of time at festivals. All my work is inspired by performance. My work always has a connection with the theatre and circus as that has played a large and important part of my life. I have got a lot of inspiration for my work from looking at Tim Burton and the Brothers Quay – their work is wonderful and very different. I used many different types of media and techniques in my work. I love creating interesting and large works of art which are fun to look at.

Title: Madame Zeroni

Description: I was inspired to create Madame Zeroni after researching old fun fairs and circus sideshows, I have also been exploring self image and have incorporated both in this instillation. I have used alginate and plaster of Paris for the face, fabric, wood, glass acrylic paint and lighting to bring this piece to life.
