Title: Untitled (Unsatisfied)
Description: This piece was taken from my introductory project focusing on the idea of ‘Body Image’. Subjectivity has always intrigued me as I find it interesting that one person’s views can be so wildly different from another’s on the same subject; furthermore it is our ability to think differently to others that forms our identity and individuality. I have been interested in people’s perceptions of their body image and how these relate to the body image of others. We are often self deprecating and find faults in our own bodies that others miss, but quick to praise and recognise the best bits of others; therefore many people are dissatisfied with their body in some way. It is recognised that people with eating disorders have a distorted view of themselves. Image is a key part of self identity and it interests me that whilst one person may find this figure desirable, others would find it repulsive.
