Grimshaw, one of Britain’s leading architects and President of the Royal Academy since 2004, is renowned for sophisticated engineering-based buildings such as the Eden Project and Waterloo International Terminal. The architect's lecture accompanies a Royal Academy exhibition focusing on 62 of his sketchbooks, revealing how the essential characteristics of his buildings have been conceived in initial concept sketches:
