Each of the winners in the Public Realm, Masterplanning and Refurbishment categories found contemporary resonances within historic fabric, patterns of use, and collective and personal memory. This event explores their fresh takes on the familiar challenge of uniting old and new. Includes speakers from Adams & Sutherland, Witherford Watson Mann and Tom Holbrook of 5th Studio. Chaired by Jeremy Melvin.

Design for Creative Exchange, St Neots, Cambridgeshire, 2009 by 5th Studio This is one of two events presented in association with Building Design and the Architect of the Year Awards, exploring issues raised by entries to the awards, and how the winners have addressed them with innovative and successful solutions.
