Between 1874 and 1885, Renoir – unlike his fellow Impressionists – produced large-scale work in which he explored the grandeur of Parisian life, leisure and fashion. Colin Bailey (Frick Collection) places some of Renoir’s iconic works in context and looks at his strategy as a modernist who navigated between the Salon and the independent exhibition.
