George Bellows brilliantly documented America’s urban scene in the early 1900s and explored first-hand both the beauty and violence of city life. Professor David Lubin, Wake Forest University, describes how Bellows refocused his attention during the Great War to bear artistic witness to atrocities he read about but did not see.
6.30–7.30pm, followed by a drink.
