To celebrate the launch of the film ‘Summer in February’ the Royal Academy of Arts has teamed up with Metrodome, to invite you to an exclusive film screening in the stunning galleries of the Summer Exhibition on Saturday 15 June 2013 at 7pm.
Directed by Christopher Menaul with a screenplay written by Jonathan Smith based on his 1995 novel, ‘Summer in February’ stars Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey), Dominic Cooper (The Devil’s Double), Emily Browning (Sucker Punch).
Summer in February focuses on the wild and bohemian Lamorna Group, dominated by the charismatic AJ Munnings (Dominic Cooper) who later went on to become a President of the Royal Academy (PPRA). The incendiary anti-Modernist Munnings is at the heart of the complex love triangle, involving the young aspiring painter Florence Carter-Wood (Emily Browning) and Gilbert Evans (Dan Stevens), the land agent in charge of the Lamorna estate. Renowned painter Laura Knight is played by Hattie Morahan.
True – and deeply moving – the story is played out against the timeless beauty of the Cornish coast, in the far West of England, beyond the reach of London and its stifling conventions. Key scenes from the movie were also filmed at the Royal Academy.

• 7.00pm – 7.30pm – Drinks in the Main Galleries of the Summer Exhibition. Your ticket entitles you to one drink. A Cash Bar will be in operation after
• 7.30pm – Film begins in Gallery 3 of Summer Exhibition. To avoid disruption there will be no admittance after 7.30pm
• 9.30pm – Film ends. Event closes
Tickets are £19.50 (includes a glass of wine or soft drink).
