Claude Monet’s painterly solutions straddle two centuries and continue to support the pursuit of abstract art today. Barbara Stern Shapiro, Curator Emerita at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, considers the influence of Monet upon modern and contemporary artists, through looking at the abstract works of Ellsworth Kelly, Helen Frankenthaler, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg and Michael Mazur.
