Following a recent three-year and £11 million restoration project, the Watts Gallery reopened in spring 2011. We privately visit this Arts and Crafts building to learn about the life and work of the Victorian artist G.F. Watts OM RA, known as ‘England’s Michelangelo’. We also visit the stunning Watts Chapel, a unique fusion of Art Nouveau, Celtic, Romanesque and Egyptian influences, and the nearby St Nicholas’s Church in Compton.
