Stationer’s Hall

Friends Only

21 January 2013

Founded in 1403 and granted a Royal Charter in 1557, the Stationers’ Company governed the publishing industry and was officially responsible for setting and enforcing regulations. The present hall dates from 1673, after the Great Fire of London destroyed the first hall in 1666. We explore the Great Hall, Court Room and Stock Room and learn about the oak panelling, magnificent stained glass and historical portraits.
