Virtually destroyed by a bomb in 1940, St Bride’s near Fleet Street was restored to Wren’s original designs in the decades that followed and still boasts the highest steeple of any Wren church. On our private tour we learn about the architecture, as well as the church’s place in literary history. Known as the ‘Printers’ Cathedral’, St Bride’s housed London’s first printing press, and is closely connected with writers such as Pepys and Milton.
