Spencer House

26 October 2009

Friends enjoy a private tour of Spencer House, one of London’s most impressive aristocratic town houses. The property was built between 1756–66 for John, first Earl Spencer, and remains under the ownership of the Spencer family. We learn about the extensive restoration of Spencer House, which has seen it return to much of Henry Holland’s 1780s design. The restoration of the house also allowed for the return of some of the key works of art and furniture, including John Vardy’s elaborate giltwood console tables and James Stuart’s Painted Room suite.

10.30–11.30am; £17; St James’s Place, W1; SOLD OUT
