John Constable, Salisbury Cathedral, 1823. V&A.
MaryAnne Stevens, RA Director of Academic Affairs, joins us on this visit to the Salisbury and South Wiltshire Museum to view ‘Constable and Salisbury: the Soul of Landscape’. This exhibition focuses on Constable’s paintings and drawings of Salisbury and surrounding areas. In the afternoon we visit Salisbury Cathedral, built between 1220 and 1258 and widely considered to be one of the leading examples of early English architecture.
