Royal Holloway

Friends Only

7 March 2012

Founded by Victorian entrepreneur Thomas Holloway in 1879 as a college for young women, Royal Holloway University of London as we see it today was largely inspired by the Château de Chambord in the Loire Valley. We tour the Founder’s Building and chapel and learn about the iconic turreted roofline. We also view its stunning art collection, which has recently returned from a three-year tour to the USA, and includes works by William Frith and John Everett Millais.
