Provender: Country Home of Princess Olga Romanoff, Kent

15 October 2008
Sold Out

Princess Olga Romanoff kindly opens her home for Friends on this very special tour of Provender, one of the most picturesque of Kent’s many ancient houses. Unlike many other houses in Kent, Provender has never been rebuilt, instead growing in size as more space was needed. Princess Olga, whose great uncle was Tsar Nicholas II, guides us around the early Jacobean house and explains the extensive restoration that is being carried out that will transform the building from an impressive family home to one of the great sights in Kent. In the afternoon we have a guided tour around the historic village of Faversham and learn about its beautiful Restoration, Georgian, Regency and Victorian architecture.
