The Hamilton Landscapes, Painshill Park Created between 1738–73 by the Hon. Charles Hamilton, Painshill is one of the most important eighteenth-century parks in Europe. On our tour of the gardens we learn about the ‘Hamilton Landscapes’, which include the Gothic Temple, Chinese Bridge, Crystal Grotto and Gothic Tower. Hamilton was at the forefront of the Picturesque movement and Painshill Park is testament to his creative genius.
