Kettle's Yard and the Jockey Club
21 October 2010
Friends Only
Curator of ‘Wild Thing’ Dr Richard Cork joins us on this private visit to Kettle’s Yard, the home of former Tate curator Jim Ede. Kettle’s Yard contains a fascinating collection including paintings by Ben and Winifred Nicholson, Christopher Wood, Joan Miró and sculptures by Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth and Constantin Brancusi. The collection also includes significant works by the French sculptor Henri Gaudier-Brzeska, many of which feature in ‘Wild Thing’.
In the afternoon, we privately tour The Jockey Club, founded 250 years ago. We learn about its fabulous collection of equestrian paintings, including works by George Stubbs and Sir Alfred Munnings.
8.45am–6.45pm; £75 (incl. coffee, lunch/wine and tea)
