Kelmarsh Hall, Northampton

26 February 2009

Opening especially for Friends, Kelmarsh Hall is an eighteenth-century Palladian-style manor designed by James Gibbs. On our guided tour, we learn about its former occupant Nancy Lancaster who inspired the development of the English Country House style. We also tour the Croome Collection, which showcases some of the unique paintings, furniture and porcelain that was used by the 6th Earl of Coventry, George William, to furnish his home at Croome Court in Worcestershire in the 1750s.
