Great Houses of Lincolnshire
12 — 15 May 2010
SOLD OUT
As ‘the county of stately homes’, Lincolnshire has much to offer Friends this spring. During our four days, we visit a number of impressive homes and gardens including Grimsthorpe Castle, which houses a fine collection including thrones and furnishings from the old House of Lords; Belvoir Castle, ancestral home of the Duke and Duchess of Rutland for over a thousand years; Easton Walled Gardens, which dates back to 1592; and Harlaxton Manor, considered to be the most attractive and interesting work of the Victorian architect Anthony Salvin. We base ourselves in the cathedral city of Lincoln where the cobbled streets and majestic medieval architecture provide an inspiring setting for our four days.
