Goodwood, Sussex

21 October 2010

Goodwood House has been home to the Dukes of Richmond for over 300 years. On our private connoisseur’s tour, we visit the magnificent Regency State Apartments filled with paintings by Reynolds, Romney, Canaletto and Van Dyck; Sèvres porcelain, French Gobelins tapestries and James Wyatt’s stunning ‘Napoleonic Egyptian’ dining room. Curator and furniture expert James Peill introduces the stunning collection of French furniture and we visit the estate’s delightful Shell House, rarely opened to the public.
