Foundling Museum

Opening privately for Friends, the Foundling Museum tells the story of the Foundling Hospital, set up in 1741 as London’s first home for abandoned children. William Hogarth, a founding governor of the hospital, established a permanent art collection and our tour includes works by Reynolds, Gainsborough and Millais. Friends may also visit the exhibition ‘The Triumph of Pleasure: Vauxhall Gardens 1729–1786’.

This event is also taking place on 23 July 2012
