Firle Place, West Sussex

Friends Only

27 June 2013

Firle has been the home of the Gage family for over 500 years. This eighteenth-century mansion, concealing parts of a medieval building, contains a superb collection of furniture, porcelain and Rococo plasterwork. We explore the house and its collection, which includes works by Van Dyke, Gainsborough, Reynolds and Teniers. We also tour the gardens and visit St Peter’s Church, home to a large stained glass window by John Piper.
