Dennis Severs’ House

11 September 2008
Sold Out

The brainchild of eccentric designer and artist, Dennis Severs, 18 Folgate Street, built in 1724, is a time capsule, depicting life in a Georgian townhouse in the 18th century as experienced by a fictitious family of Huguenot silk weavers. Severs transformed each room into an evocative tableau, designed to draw us into another world, and allowing us to become part of the artistic experience rather than viewing it as outsiders. We privately tour each of the ten rooms as Severs intended – in silence and with an open mind.

7–8.30pm; meet at house entrance, Spitalfields, EC1
