Danson House, Bexleyheath

17 November 2010

Built in 1766 by Sir Robert Taylor, Danson House is a revival of sixteenth-century Italian villa design and has been described by Pevsner as ‘crystalline’ in its architecture. During this special opening for Friends, we visit the elegant saloon, opulent library, stunning dining room with the original eighteenth-century wall paintings and learn about the massive restoration undertaken to rescue the house from nearly 30 years of dereliction.
