Courtauld Gallery: Michelangelo's Dream

9 March 2010

Lecturer Dr Caroline Levitt leads Friends through the Courtauld’s new exhibition. Michelangelo’s Dream of Human Life is one of the finest of all Italian Renaissance drawings and is amongst the Courtauld’s greatest treasures. We explore the making and meaning of this celebrated drawing in the context of closely related works by Michelangelo and his contemporaries. This exhibition also contains a rarely seen group of letters and poems by Michelangelo.
