By special arrangement, Dr Aviva Burnstock, Head of the Department of Conservation and Technology at the Courtauld Institute of Art, gives a special lecture on her investigation into the materials, techniques and condition of paintings, including an introduction to key conservation principles and processes. We then tour the Courtauld Gallery to see how some of the collection’s most famous works have been conserved by Dr Burnstock and her team.
