Cobham Hall, Kent

14 April 2010

Cobham Hall is a beautiful red-brick mansion dating from 1584 with Jacobean, Carolean and eighteenth-century additions. Our private tour includes many paintings by artists such as Joshua Reynolds, John Hoppner and Geoffrey Kneller, the magnificent Gilt Hall with ceiling designed by Inigo Jones in 1670, the Dining Room and Chapel Room by James Wyatt and the beautifully restored gardens by Humphrey Repton. Home to the Earls of Darnley from 1721 to 1961, Cobham is now a girls’ school.
