Christmas at the Geffrye Museum

8 December 2009

The Geffrye Museum is located in almshouses built by the Ironmongers’ Company in the eighteenth century. A series of period rooms neatly encapsulates 400 years of middle-class domestic life in London.

This talk provides a fascinating background to the ‘Christmas Past’ exhibition, for which the rooms are decorated in authentic historical styles. Meanings behind our seasonal traditions are explained and, following the talk, Friends are able to explore the rooms.

10am–12pm; 136 Kingsland Road, E2; SOLD OUT
