St Albans
£78. Friends only.
Friends of the RA book first
Friends enjoy a guided-walking tour of the medieval and historic architecture of the city and, after lunch, a tour of the magnificent St Albans Cathedral.
St Albans is a unique English Cathedral City, with an ancient past made clear by its Roman archaeological remains. The Cathedral dates from 1077 and retains its Saxon foundations but with 19th-century renovations which were made by George Gilbert Scott RA. We visit the nave, the longest in any English church at 84 metres, the Wallingford Screen and the shrine of St Alban.
Includes coach, lunch, tea.
