Giovanni Battista Moroni
Explore 16th-century Italian fashion in this 1-day practical workshop inspired by the portraits of Giovanni Battista Moroni.
Using historically appropriate equipment and techniques, we explore 16th-century Italian fashion, taking inspiration from the figures in Moroni’s portraits. This workshop includes a focused visit to the exhibition, an explanatory talk with images of surviving garments, and hands-on sessions where participants make a cutwork purse and try setting a ruff.
This workshop is delivered in collaboration with The School of Historical Dress, who seek to promote the study of historical dress through research and teaching.
