Rubens and His Legacy
Professor Lord Richard Harries of Pentregarth, former Bishop of Oxford, speaks to Tim Marlow, Director of Artistic Programmes at the RA about the way modern and contemporary art responds to the visual narratives of Christianity.
During the 20th century, a number of major artists produced work responding to traditional Christian imagery, a prominent strand in the work of Peter Paul Rubens. Join Professor Lord Richard Harries and Tim Marlow to consider how modernism has turned out to be a surprising friend to religious art, and the way contemporary art responds to visual narratives of Christianity today.
A drinks reception follows this event and ticket holders are entitled to one complimentary drink.
