On Creative Lines
On Creative Lines is the first online exhibition of work from the Royal Academy of Arts Outreach Programme.
The drawings were selected and photographed by the Outreach artists from schools participating in the 2008-9 programme. The work has been grouped under five main themes that correspond to key creative objectives and teaching approaches within the workshops:
- Exploring Change - Accepting evolution in the drawing process
- Spontaneity - Relying on instinct at speed
- Inner Vision - Imagination, interpretation and memory
- Courage to Invent - Creating individual realities
- Sustaining Curiosity - Prolonged involvement with looking
An additional section - Primary Perceptions - includes drawings by Key Stage 2 pupils that show many of the above themes since these workshops for younger participants are based on similar lines.
