Web Editor Assistant

The Royal Academy of Arts is one of the UK’s foremost arts institutions, famous for its world class exhibitions including Van Gogh, Anish Kapoor and David Hockney. Royal Academy Enterprises Ltd is the commercial arm of the Royal Academy, responsible for publishing, retail and all other commercial activities.

A rare opportunity has arisen to join the Academy’s Publications Department as its Web Editor Assistant. With the Website Editor, the successful candidate will ensure delivery of lively, relevant digital content across the Academy’s web presence. Using web technology s/he will produce a mix of additional content formats including audio podcasts, online videos, blog posts and e-newsletters. Content will be on brand and with the Royal Academy’s tone of voice.

S/he will possess excellent copywriting skills and be able to optimise content for each platform used. Acute attention to detail is key in this role. With extensive existing experience of online content management, s/he will have an in-depth understanding of the web and the opportunities it offers as a communications and commercial tool.

Well presented, articulate and confident, the successful candidate will possess first rate communication skills to build effective working relationships both with internal colleagues and external agencies. Experience of audio and video editing software and familiarity with Google analytics is preferred, along with a genuine passion for visual arts.
