One of the UK’s foremost arts institutions, the Royal Academy of Arts is famous for its world-class exhibitions, which have recently featured the work of Edouard Manet, Anish Kapoor and David Hockney. The Royal Academy’s purpose is to be a clear, strong voice for art and artists. Its public programme promotes the creation, study and enjoyment of art to a wide range of audiences through exhibitions, education and debate. RA Enterprises Ltd, the institution’s commercial arm, is responsible for the Royal Academy’s publishing, retail and other commercial activities.
We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our small and highly committed book-publishing team to copy-edit and proofread exhibition catalogues and other titles. You will have an enquiring mind, superlative organisational skills, first-rate spelling and grammar, an eagle eye for detail, a calm, methodical approach, and the ability to think clearly and to communicate effectively with authors, artists, designers and colleagues. The successful candidate will have a passion for excellence, proficiency in at least one foreign language and three years’ experience in a comparable editorial role.
