Junior Lighting & Audio Visual Technician

The Royal Academy of Arts is one of the UK’s foremost arts institutions, famous for its world class exhibitions including Van Gogh, Anish Kapoor and David Hockney, and whose purpose is to be a clear, strong voice for art and artists. Its public programme promotes the creation, study and enjoyment of art to a wide range of audiences through exhibitions, education and debate.

We are currently seeking a Junior Lighting & Audio Visual Technician, ideally with specific experience of Ableton Live and strong Mac skills to deliver a consistently high quality lighting and AV service throughout the Royal Academy of Arts.

You will have previous experience of providing lighting maintenance and audio visual solutions, preferably within the Arts and Heritage sector. The successful candidate will principally maintain lighting for exhibitions and provide some AV support to a range of lectures, events and presentations in the Fine Rooms at the Academy, along with the preparation of files for podcasting and archiving.

You will possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to calmly solve problems quickly. Computer literate, you will also demonstrate a sound understanding of and a commitment to Health and Safety regulations. You will be confident, enthusiastic and work well within a team of Engineers.
