Communications Department (18 month fixed term contract with possible extension)
The Royal Academy of Arts is one of the UK’s foremost arts institutions, whose purpose is to be a clear, strong voice for art and artists. Its public programme promotes the creation, study and enjoyment of art to a wide range of audiences through exhibitions, education and debate.
An exciting opportunity for an exceptional individual has arisen to join the Communications team as the Audience Development Manager. The main objective of the role is to better understand our existing audience using sophisticated research techniques and to develop and implement initiatives to reach new and wider audiences.
Using well-honed data analysis and research skills, the successful candidate will gain deep intelligence around existing audience, identifying key insights and using these to engage and attract audiences across the many activities of the Royal Academy.
The successful candidate will possess a strong track record of developing audience programmes, preferably in the heritage sector, and have extensive experience of managing mid to large scale projects.
A clear thinker, creative with first class research and analytical skills are key, along with strong communication and influencing skills to build robust, productive relationships at all levels of seniority both within and outside the organisation.
