RA Collection: People and Organisations
Publishing company based in New York City, founded by C. Halliwell Duell, Samuel Sloan and Charles A. Pearce. The firm published works by many prominent authors, such as those by E.E. Cummings and Benjamin Spock, and a number of photographic essays and military histories. In 1951 Duell, Sloan and Pearce entered into an agreement with Little, Brown and Company to handle manufacturing, warehousing and promotion. In 1967 it became an affiliate of the Meredith Publishing Company.
