The President's Corridor

President's Corridor: Floor plan

The President’s Corridor, initially a secondary access to the state dining room from the central landing above the relocated main staircase, was remodelled by Shaw to provide access to his General Assembly Room in 1885.

Architect-Academicians too were obliged to deposit a Diploma Work ‘drawn in their own hand’. The list of architect-members is indeed a roll of honour. Examples of their Diploma Works hang here; because they are on paper and hence vulnerable to extended exposure to light, the selection is changed regularly.
