The John Madejski Fine Rooms

Please note: The John Madejski Fine Rooms are currently closed for refurbishment and will reopen for tours on September 4

The John Madejski Fine Rooms are open by guided tour only. Tours last for an hour and focus on selected works from the RA Collection and also give an insight into the history of the Royal Academy and Burlington House.

New works on display in 2010 include landscapes ranging from Thomas Gainsborough's Romantic Landscape to John Constable’s masterpiece, The Leaping Horse, which is displayed alongside oil sketches by Constable. There is also a chance to see W.P. Frith’s Private View at the Royal Academy 1881 (on loan from the Pope Family Trust) which is shown with paintings by Lawrence Alma-Tadema, G.F. Watts and Briton Riviere.

Tours are free and last for an hour. No booking is required. Meet in the entrance hall.
